About Chelsea
I'm a UK-trained midwife, postpartum doula, certified breastfeeding specialist, sleep consultant, and infant massage instructor with over 10 years of experience supporting families across Scotland, England, and now Maryland.
I've had the privilege of serving a wonderfully diverse range of families and I carry a deep passion for supporting women through one of the most significant transitions of their lives — into motherhood, and everything that comes with it.
As a clinical midwife, I rotated across departments, gaining experience in prenatal care, labor ward — where I was privileged to catch over 100 babies — and postnatal support. I've cared for families who birthed in water, delivered vaginally, and navigated both planned and emergency cesarean sections, giving me a genuine understanding of the full spectrum of birth and recovery experiences.
During my time in London, I worked with 5 NHS trusts to establish a program with 4 dedicated care pathways for families navigating loss, trauma, and perinatal mental health challenges — work that continues to shape how I show up for every family today. Since returning to the US, my work as a postpartum doula has taken many forms — from nursery preparation and those first overwhelming weeks at home, to lactation support, sleep foundations, and everything in between. No two families are the same, and I love that.
I understand that every pregnancy carries its own history, and I bring sensitivity, experience, and deep respect to every family I work with — particularly those navigating a new pregnancy after loss, IVF, or trauma. You will never need to explain yourself or minimize what you have been through.
Based in Maryland and available virtually, I bring clinical expertise and genuine human warmth to every family I work with — helping parents move from exhausted and uncertain to capable and confident.
"Having Chelsea by my side through both my traumatic and positive birth experiences was truly incredible. During the traumatic birth, her calm presence, strength, and unwavering support helped me feel safe when everything felt overwhelming. She knew exactly what I needed, even when I couldn't express it. When I was fortunate to have her again for my next birth, the experience was entirely different — peaceful, empowering, and healing. Her encouragement and care turned what could have been a frightening time into a joyful one. I'll always be grateful for her compassion, expertise, and the comforting energy she brought."

What parents are saying
These words mean more to me than anything. Every family is different — what they all share is that they deserved support, and they got it. 💛
"Chelsea has been one of the greatest gifts our family has ever received. She walked through our door and gave us an immediate sense of peace and relief."
She treated our daughter like her own. She is a miracle worker when it comes to sleep — started a routine at 10 weeks and she has been sleeping through the night ever since. Chelsea is family to us now.
— Rob
First time dad 💙
"My husband and I are both physicians and we are incredibly selective about who we trust with our children. From the moment we met Chelsea, we felt completely at ease."
Her calm, confident presence and extensive experience as a trained midwife immediately stood out. She cared for our newborn with incredible skill and love. Having Chelsea again would be completely non-negotiable.
— Elizabeth
Mom to Henry & Jack · Physician
"Chelsea gave me my confidence back. As an anxious first time mom with a baby who wouldn't sleep, I felt lost."
She helped me become confident taking my baby out, breastfeeding and putting my son to sleep. Her knowledge is extensive and she is so inviting and warm. She felt apart of the family after. She is one of the only people I would trust with my baby.
— Molly
First time mama
"We truly wish we could have kept her forever. She is, without a doubt, the absolute best."
From day one she consistently went above and beyond — providing not just exceptional care but genuine support and reassurance. She has a warm, positive personality that made such a difference in our home, especially during long nights.

Why postpartum support matters
The early weeks are where confidence is built or lost — where feeding either clicks or becomes a source of anxiety, where sleep either becomes manageable or a crisis. Most parents don't need to struggle through this alone. With the right support in place from the start, everything feels different.

Recognition
In 2024 I was honored to receive the Armed Forces Advocate of the Year Award at the Celebrating Forces Families Awards in the UK — recognition of a cause that is deeply personal to me, and work I am incredibly proud of.
My Masters dissertation — Operation Mum — explored mobility, separation and social isolation on the psychological status of UK army wives in the perinatal period.

As a military spouse myself, I know first-hand how hard it is to raise a family without a village. Six days postpartum, I was standing in a post office in Germany, exhausted and emotional, desperately trying to get my newborn to open her eyes long enough for a passport photo — because without it, we couldn't move back to England. There was no nesting, no nursery. Just a transition flat, a one-month-old, and a move on the horizon. That is the reality of military family life — beautiful, relentless, and completely unpredictable. I want you to have a supported experience, from someone who has truly lived it.
"You don't need to be perfect.
You just need to be theirs."

How we work together
Every family is different. I provide personalized care with genuine availability — because you deserve more than a generic program.
A note on collaborative careI work in collaboration with your existing medical team. I am not a replacement for your OB-GYN, midwife, or pediatrician — those relationships matter deeply and your providers know your full history. My role is to sit alongside that care, filling the gap between clinical appointments with hands-on, personalized support. I will always refer to your medical team where specialist care is needed.
I work with a small number of families at a time to ensure I can be truly present for each one. If you are expecting, reach out now — spaces are limited and fill quickly, especially for in-person Maryland care.

For military families
Maryland is home to some of the largest military communities in the country — Fort Meade, Joint Base Andrews, and the US Naval Academy in Annapolis are all right here. I know this community because I am part of it.
As a military spouse myself, I've navigated deployment, relocation, and the postpartum period without the support network most families take for granted. My Masters research was built on listening to women exactly like you. I get it — not from a textbook, but from lived experience.
Whether you're newly posted to Maryland, your partner is deployed, or you're simply far from home — I will meet you exactly where you are.
Frequently asked questions
If your question isn't here, please reach out — I love to chat and there are no silly questions when it comes to your baby.
Who do you work with?
I work with expectant parents, newly postpartum families, and anyone navigating the early weeks and beyond — first-time parents, families expecting multiples, families navigating a complex or challenging start, military families without local support, and anyone who simply needs an experienced, knowledgeable person in their corner. My support doesn't stop at the newborn stage — I also offer sleep consulting for children up to age 4, supporting families through sleep transitions, developmental changes, and those moments where sleep suddenly falls apart again. I work collaboratively alongside your existing medical team and will always refer where specialist care is needed.
How do I get started?
Simply send an email to hello@confidentbabysleepco.com and I'll be in touch to arrange a free discovery call. This is a no-pressure conversation to talk through your needs, answer any questions, and make sure the fit feels right for your family.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible — ideally during pregnancy. I work with a small number of ber of families at a time to ensure genuine availability and personalized attention. Spaces for in-person Maryland care fill quickly, especially around popular due date windows.
Where do you cover in Maryland?
I provide in-person care across Severna Park, greater Annapolis, Baltimore, and surrounding Maryland areas. Virtual consultations are available to families anywhere in the US and internationally. If you're unsure whether I cover your area please get in touch — I'm always happy to discuss.
Can packages be combined or customised?
Absolutely. My whole approach is personalized — no two families are the same and no two packages need to be either. If you're interested in combining the Foundation Package with breastfeeding support, or adding extra sessions, just ask. Everything is designed to flex around your family's needs.
What sleep methods do you use?
I don't follow a single rigid method. I create a personalized plan built around your child's temperament, your parenting values, and your goals as a family. Sleep consulting is available from newborns through to age 4 — because sleep challenges don't stop at the newborn stage. Book a free discovery call to talk through your situation.
Are virtual sessions available?
Yes — I offer virtual education sessions, sleep consultations, and ongoing support to families anywhere in the world. In-person care is available for Maryland families and is required for overnight shifts and hands-on breastfeeding sessions. Many families find virtual support works beautifully for prenatal education, sleep consulting, and check-ins.
What if I need more support than the package includes?
Every family is different and sometimes you simply need more. Additional sessions, overnight shifts, and extended support can always be added on. My priority is that you feel supported for as long as you need — never rushed through a package and out the door.
